Glass Shower Doors -- Beautiful and Shiny
Nothing makes a bathroom look brighter and more clean than sparkling glass shower doors. Lime deposits, though, can make see-through glass shower doors seem almost opaque, if you don't keep on top of them.
Here are some ways to keep your glass shower doors looking shiny and new:
Here are some ways to keep your glass shower doors looking shiny and new:
Mr. Clean Eraser with Dishwashing Liquid:
Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are good on their own for cleaning glass shower doors. But if you add a drop of liquid dish detergent to a Magic Eraser, lime deposits will come off with less effort. Just add a drop to the Magic Eraser and scrub. Then wipe the detergent off the glass, wipe again with a clean, dry towel and see the shine appear.
Corn Starch:
Combine cornstarch and water to make a thick paste. Then wipe with a wet rag. Wipe again with a dry, clean rag. Your glass shower doors will glisten!
ine Grade Steel Wool
Use the finest grade of steel wool that you can find. You can pick it up at the grocery store, WalMart or a hardware/building supply store.
Test a corner of your glass door to make sure that the steel wool doesn't scratch it. Then just gently rub the steel wool over the glass and rinse. That's all there is to it. The finest grade of steel wool should not scratch your glass.

Fabric Softener Sheets
This (#1) is the method that I use to clean my own glass shower glass doors.
1. Dampen a dryer sheet, wipe your glass door, rinse and dry with a towel.
2. You can also wipe your shower glass doors with a dry fabric softener sheet, rinse and dry.
3. Sprinkle some cornstarch onto a damp dryer sheet. Scrub door and rinse. Dry with towel.

Liquid Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Squeeze liquid or gel toilet bowl cleaner onto a bristle brush. Scrub glass doors, rinse and dry. Make sure that you test your glass door, metal trim/runner and fiberglass bathtub and shower to make sure that the toilet bowl cleanser doesn't remove more than lime scale and dirt. Some toilet bowl cleaners may be too caustic to use on metal, glass or fiberglass.
SAFETY TIP:
BE SURE TO VENTILATE BATHROOM COMPLETELY AND WEAR A MASK WHILE WORKING WITH THE TOILET BOWL CLEANER.

WD-40 Spray
Spray the WD-40 on the glass shower doors and wipe clean with a dry rag. Rinse shower enclosure, glass doors, floor of shower or bathtub and wipe clean again.
Safety Tip:
Be careful shen stepping into your shower afterwards because it is easy to leave a little bit of WD-40 residue, which could cause you to slip and fall.

White Vinegar
White vinegar has excellent cleaning properties. Apply white vinegar with a nonabrasive nylon scrubbing pad all over glass door. Gently scrub and rinse.
In between white vinegar cleaning treatments, wipe down your glass shower door with either a dry towel or a squeegee. Also spray your glass shower doors with full-strength white vinegar once a week and rinse to maintain clean. Wipe afterwards with dry towel.
Safety Tip:
Wear a mask and have adequate ventilation.

I had read that Cascade dishwasher soap would clean shower walls. I used it and thought "why not use on the doors too"! Big mistake! There is now a film on the doors that will NOT come off. I have used vinegar, lime away, Arm and Hammer washing soda.... nothing seems to help! Any ideas?
